About Jaén, Úbeda and Baeza: the back story

The province of Jaén is a sea of olive groves, with the Renaissance towns of Úbeda and Baeza at its heart and the forested Sierras de Cazorla to the east.

Úbeda and Baeza

The two towns form one UNESCO site (2003). Stay in Úbeda’s Parador on the great square.

Jaén

The cathedral and the castle of Santa Catalina dominate the city, which now has four starred restaurants.

Jaén province has five MICHELIN-starred restaurants in the 2026 guide.

Cazorla

The natural park of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas is for forest walks and rivers.

Our advice: come in late autumn to see the olive harvest.
