Ronda and the white villages: the back story
The back story

About Ronda and the white villages: the back story
Ronda stands on either side of a deep gorge, joined by the Puente Nuevo. Around it, the white villages of the Serranía de Ronda and the Sierra de Grazalema cling to hills and crags.
Ronda
Walk down into the gorge for the view of the bridge, and stay at the Parador or the Reina Victoria for the views.
The white villages
Setenil’s houses sit under the rock; Zahara climbs to its castle above the lake; Arcos looks down from its cliff.
Bardal, beside the Puente Nuevo, holds two MICHELIN stars (2026 guide).
Getting around
A car is best. From the coast, the A-397 climbs to Ronda; our Marbella guide covers Ronda as a day trip.
Our advice: spend a night in Ronda to see it after the day visitors leave.
